Decorations such as old brooches, cards and letter
Joiner’s glue
Clamps
Hand drill
Glue
Ribbon
Step 1
Use the cold joiner's glue and glue three books on top of each other. Use the clamps to clamp the books together and let it dry thoroughly.
Step 2
Remove the glass from the old photo frame and replace the cardboard piece with a piece of Masonite
Step 3
Use the hand drill to make a hole in the middle of the books. In case you do not have a big enough drill point you can ask someone with a drill press to make the hole. Drill the same size whole through your sugar bowl and Masonite-piece of the photo frame.
Step 4
Take apart the bedside lamp. Use your pile to form your lamp – first the frame, then the books inside the frame and then the sugar bowl. Move the pen-part through the hole in the frame, books and sugar bowl.
Step 5
Screw the bottom of the lamp together again with the bolt that will be on the bottom of the frame.
Step 6
Place the electric part of the lamp back on top.
Step 7
Stick the four rubber feet onto the bottom of the frame in order to lift it a little from the surface. The cable runs through the bottom part of the frame and that is the reason for the lift. The cable can be fixed to the frame with a small post to ensure that it doesn't get loose (in case the lamp should fall).
Step 8
Place the lamp shade back on and decorate it with old post cards, letters, ribbon and brooches.
