Denim Chair For a Children's Room

(old recycled jeans)

Use all the old jeans that doesn’t fit any more and transform it into something practical and useful. With this jean-cover all the stationary and art supplies can be stored neatly and be close by at the same time.

What do you need?
Ottoman 4 old jeans 1,5 m elastic Blue thread	Scissor Needles Paper for the pattern

Step 1
Acquire the measurements of the ottoman (the seating part) on top as well as the 4 sides.

Step 2
Add a 1 cm-hem to all four sides of the seating part, as well as for 3 of the 4 sides of each of the side panels and 3 cm on the bottom of each of the side panels for the hem.

Step 3
Cut the pattern out on paper (1 square for the seating and one square for the 4 sides).

Step 4
Cut the inside-leg seams of the jeans open as well as the front seam next to the zipper. Fold open.

Step 5
Fit the pattern on the open folded legs. If the pattern is too big the leg panels must be stitched together. Try to use the pockets for the side panels. If needed you can sew on more pockets on the side panels. This will provide more storage space.

Step 6
Sew the side panels together, but leave 1 cm on top of each seam open.

Step 7
Sew the 4 sides of the seating panel onto the 4 sides.

Step 8
Overclock the seams.

Step 9
Sew a hem round the bottom and put the elastic in so that you can pull it tight.
